Under the best conditions, building an app can still take months. With the mHealth App Kit, Dr. Mark Albers was able to build an app and launch a study within two weeks.
Based on research that linked loss of smell and the presence of COVID-19, Dr. Mark Albers worked with ADK Group to take the mHealth App Kit and extend it with custom development.
The result was a novel test that was >90% effective in identifying COVID-19. Better yet, it can be taken from the comfort and safety of your own home and is not invasive.
This project used the mHealth App Kit as a starting point, adding extensive layers of customization on top through a partnership with ADK designers and developers. While the resulting app is unique to this situation, it would not have been possible under the time or resource constraints without the mHealth App Kit.
